What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Counselling offers time and space in which to safely explore and grow, to understand anxieties, feelings and thoughts which may be troubling you.
As a counsellor, I strive to provide a safe, open environment where you are able to explore difficulties and find direction in your life and through this therapeutic counselling process, experience personal growth and development. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and an accepting environment for those wishing to experience change in their personal circumstances.
Counselling is a very personal process and it is important to acknowledge that there will be times during your therapy where it is necessary to talk about uncomfortable and painful things. Whatever you say in the counselling session is, however, confidential (subject to legal and ethical exceptions) and I will offer guidance and support to help you through this process.
Who can benefit from Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Anyone who is willing to accept help to look at themselves and their issues honestly and attentively can benefit from counselling. You may go to counselling because you are distressed and seeking help with a specific problem. You do not have to be in crisis to attend counselling sessions. Counselling is also very useful to simply gain greater confidence and move forward with your life more effectively.
Counselling can benefit individuals through increased self-confidence, higher self-esteem, deeper understanding and an ability to see ourselves more clearly.
As for where and how the session is carried out, I offer counselling in different formats, including:
- Individual Counselling (Face-to-Face)
- Couples Counselling
- Family Counselling
- Telephone Counselling
- Email / Skype / Online Counselling
